5% and a little more that catches my eye

It's mid week and I've been doing a lot of rest and relaxation. I had a second surgery yesterday that was prompted due to some major bleeding near my first operation, scary stuff. Only 5% of patients reach that side effect and naturally I would be in that percentile! During these rougher days I've been keeping busy as well with my I See Noise prints - which by the way I have just re-stocked the shop and added 2 new prints! Check them out HERE.

If you're following me on Instagram then you know what's been catchng my eye lately - if not, here ya go!

Stay tuned next week for a great post on shopping finds and a new giveaway!

Deborah Lippman polish picks

It's day #5 of recovery after my tonsil surgery and I am finally able to eat something! I have to say though this whole bed arrest idea is getting a little old and I could really use some retail therapy or a good mani/pedi at Pure Nail Bar!

To get me excited I perused through the Deborah Lippman collection and was instantly inspired for some new outfits!

Here are my picks from the current collection that are a must have in yours!

From right to left:
Stairway To Heaven, Baby Love, Glamorous Life, Day Tripper, Some Enchanting Evening, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, I's Raining Men, Shape Of My Heart, Between The Sheets, Believe, Fashion, Mermaids Dream, On The Beach, I Know What Boys Like

Holiday Brights

Today's post is about brights! Whether you find it difficult to add color into your wardrobe or just need some inspiration, today's post is for you.

I just recently wrote an article for Kenton Magazine on how to wear bright colors in the colder seasons. To get some quick tips check out the article HERE.

For Christmas, Eric's parents gifted me with a beautiful "Cabana" necklace by Lia Sofia! With the gold accents and hushed blue it can work with so many outfits as my pop on color or just a light shade on an already bright top, just like above!

This great shade of blue polish by Illamasqua also made it's way into my stocking this Christmas (thanks cuz!). It'll be a great addition to a ton of outfits.

Your Monday Must-Haves

Happy Monday everyone!

I thought I'd start off the week with some of my favorite items from the weekend, possibly inspire some of you to purchase or create the same :)

Did you do anything fabulous over the weekend? I for one kept it low key and dedicated it to organizing everything in my place, searching Beatport for some great new house music, shopping for fun Christmas prezzies, one on one time with my mom and outfitting a client for fall!

Oh, and if you haven't entered in my recent giveaway for a fantastic WTF? accessory frame by the lovely Kate Duncan - you really should! IT ENDS TODAY at 5pm so make sure to get those entries in quick!!!! You can enter by clicking HERE.

My two besties Lyndsey and Tamar and myself are swapping gifts this year and we've never done the "Secret Santa" swap, we just get each other gifts!

Shopping Finds - and some favorites!

Firstly, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of my American friends and followers!!!

....and now down to business.

I just love this new Gap sweater that I nabbed at the Gap x Style Spy Holiday Shopping Party on Tuesday. The odd (but awesome!) thing about it though is that I didn't even try it on and I ALWAYS try on Gap items because they never fit me. IT FIT!! It also came in black with gold threading and I may just run over and get it. It was only $30 on promo from $59.50.

As of late I've been drawn to only wear a few of my bracelets. These 2 gold chains were my mom's when she was younger and they honestly go with just about any bracelet combination I can think of. This Bulova watch was my mom's wedding present from my dad and even tho the battery is dead and it needs a bit of shining up I always want to wear it just because of how beautiful it is with it's vintage feel.

A new holiday polish by Joe Fresh! A metallic gold finish can add a bit of an edge and even look flirty with some darker outfits. (Color - Sunkissed)

My new patent leather tote from Le Chateau that I purchased during their Holiday Shopping Event with Flare Magazine. It holds my entire life and even room for more purchases ;) - a blessing AND a curse.

Deck the halls and drink those drinks!

When I think of a holiday party I think, sparkle! I saw this gorgeously cut and structured top by Stella McCartney on Net-a-Porter and immediately put the entire outfit together. A top like this would go best with a structured pencil skirt (to elongate the body) and it needed to have some detail to it. With a top cut the way it is, a pencil skirt that draws to the knee, you can create an hour glass shape even if you don't have one.

Paired with simple accessories a nude nail polish you'll be that holiday sparkle everyone's been looking for ;).

Click the items to purchase them:
1. Stella McCartney Fluted stretch-twill top $995
2. Vince Sequined pencil skirt $345
3. Mulberry Oversized Postman's Lock suede clutch $700
4. Jacob Cashmere Cardi Nail Polish $6
5. BCBG animal print bracelet $38
6. Jimmy Choo Cosmic suede pumps $695

Priorities, Priorities

As you may have noticed I've been lacking on the post front. These past 2 weeks have been super hectic for me with the holidays, getting together with friends I haven't seen in a while and moving out of my apartment. Renovating my basement suite took me 4 days just to paint it white, I've been packing up my life since Thursday and had to drive from point A to point B 12 times in 3 days!! Now I have a basement suite that's full of furniture and packed up boxes that need a home.

The icing on this gigantic cake is that I get to decorate a whole new place!! I'm going for this whole white, clean, pop of color feel with darker furniture. I don't have a theme but a lot of ideas and I'm hoping they all work together. So far I've started on putting my shoes away - check out THIS photo! I have 2 of those cabinets and they've already been filled...time for less shoes?

One thing that's been racking my mind is that I haven't been able to settle my nail polish addiction because they're PACKED AWAY IN A BOX AND I DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE!!! My nails look shitty. So, instead of "window" shopping I'm going to have you all join me in "screen" shopping for some holiday party polishes. Enjoy this long list of Deborah Lippmann colors!!

Look back soon for a post on my brand new pad!

Shopping Finds - beauty edition

With my days being a bit busy as of late - and not to mention lack of funds I haven't been able to shop as much as I would like! For a while now my latest purchase was a few days ago at the NYX store mentioned below and 6 nail polishes from Walmart that were a steal. I can't believe I only left with one shadow!!

I highly reccomend grabbing this neutral shade, it's perfect for a little shine on the lids or a highlight under the brow.

NYX shade ES18 - Sahara

The great idea behind all of these polishes is that they all work perfect for fall / winter with a neutral outfit but obviously transition for the spring / summer months - Used all year around!

Rimmel London 130 - French Lingerie
China Glaze 77044 - IV
Wet n Wild - Sparked
NYC 221 - Spring Street
Wet n Wild - Metallica
Wet n Wild - Black Creme

O.P.I Touring America

I was not a huge fan of O.P.I nail polish because the other ones that I had tried took forever to dry. I was given this set of Touring America minis and was impressed with the amount of time it took to dry, less than a minute!

The miniature sets come in all different themes from Pirates of the Caribbean and even Glee!

Snipits of my life: Part 4- Beauty

MY MAKEUP | I have never been a big shopper for makeup and only purchase it if necessary, unless something were to catch my eye but that rarely happens anymore. Over the years I've come to find out which products work best for me and which to stay away from so I only use a few brands.

Foundations | I use COVER FX Natural FX water based liquid foundation, I never get the feeling that I have makeup on my skin $37.00.

Bronzers |
To add a bit of color to my skin I use COVER FX Bronze FX sunkissed bronzing powder, a little bit of this powder on your brush goes a long way $28.00.

Lips | Always always always use a lip balm 3 times a day minumum but for some sheen I use Chanel Gloss #98 (thanks nina!!)

Blushes |
About a month ago I was introduced to Mary Kay makeup and will never use another blush again! One swoop of the brush and my cheeks are rosey for a full day, I use "Strawberry Cream 1C10"

Eyeshadow | I use many brands of shadows, however Covergirl and Urban Decay have been my curren favorites.

Eyeliners & Mascara | Everyone can agree with me on this one, Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black is THE BEST MASCARA EVER. Enough said. As for my eyeliner I'm currently using Mary Kay Black self sharpening pen.

MY NAILS |
I am so obsessed with nail polish that I have to put myself on a monthly allowance of only 1 PER MONTH.

Brands that I am currently wearing - Joe Fresh, Sally Hansen, Nicole by OPI, LA Girl, LA Colors, Essie, Motives, Billy and Wet n Wild. I like to experiment with all brands of nail polish to see which ones I like the best.

*** DIY nail polish shelf - total cost $10. The amount of wood I purchased for $5 was enough to create 2 racks. $5 for white spray paint.

48 days.

48 days left until I'm basking in the desert sun sippin on vodka strawberry lemonade slushies and getting ready to party it up VIP style! In another mad dash to H&M before work yesterday I landed 2 more dresses and a monokini! I must say I'm very proud of my monokini purchase considering I have cuts and bruises all over me from trying on a size too small the other day and now landing my size, LAST ONE, hiddin in a pile of nothings in the fitting room area.

But I digres... my updated checklist.
Vegas Shopping List
• Printed romper (that doesn’t make my ass hang out of the bottom)
• Black basic maxi dress CHECK!
• Printed shorts
• 1 AMAZING party dress CHECK!
• Cut out monokini (for daily pool parties...Rehab!)CHECK!!
• 2 Bikinis (preferably strapless and neutrals or a print)
• Dark brown wedges
• Strappy sandals (that won’t cut my feet to shreds)
• Raybans (I can’t believe I lost mine!!)
• Nicole OPI "Twist of Fate" Nail Lacquer !)CHECK!!

M-m-mint Sorbet!

I've added a new edition to the nail polish collection! I like to try new brands of nail polish so for this time around I've chosen Sally Hansen's Mint Sorbet. This will be the perfect color for thoes bright spring and summer days!

It's my birthday dinner tonight!

If my closet was Net-A-Porter... This would be my ideal birthday outfit.

Hervé Léger Perforated leather bandage dress $4,900
Giuseppe Zanotti Snake-effect leather T-bar sandals $595
Alexander McQueen Knuckle-duster lace-covered satin box clutch $2,295

BEAUTYmark Grand Opening

On Wednesday me and my girlfriend Lyndsey went to the grand opening of the new location for BEAUTYmark! We had such a great time flailing around the store looking at everything and creating lists in our minds on what we want to buy. It was my first time shopping there and it will definetly be a domino effect of times to come. The goody bag and wine was a great treat too.

I HIGHLY recommend that everyone go! Not only does he sell the best brands of makeup, but also lotions, body scrubs, hair tools, clothing and accessories.

I had to restrain myself from purchasing everything in the store but am over the moon happy with what i got - Borrowed and Blue Essie nailpolish, Hollywood Made "VOG" tee and an hourglass necklace.
