New finds

It was a lovely day in Vancouver yesterday worthy of a trip to Yaletown with Eric. We stopped by "The Cross" and for thoes of you that have not been there - it is filled with romantic furniture, unique trinkets for around the home and some great reading. The whole store is very Baroque with a modern indie feel. I could spend hours in that store and rack up every credit card I am able to have under my name. You should go!

Luckily, I didn't have to leave empty handed! I nabbed this great gold tray for the living room coffee table and "The Selby" book by Todd Selby, everytime I come across the book I always tell myself "ok ill get it next time!", it was finally "next time"!!!

Fire in my new shoes

Can you believe it? Fall is in less than 20 days away!! I know I shouldn't be too excited since Vancouver litter ally just started summer a few weeks ago and I really am enjoying the sunshine and warmth....but I have to admit... knit sweaters and booties are calling my name!

Becca at my work showed up in a great pair of black booties from H&M and obviously I had to make a trip over there to get my hands on a pair. I get there, sold out. NO EFFING WAY THEY'RE SOLD OUT! I knew that someone must have been hiding a pair somewhere in the store so I spent 15 minutes looking for every hiding spot there could be and wouldn't ya know it... I found the last pair of black booties size 8. MINE!!!

Also hard to believe, I do not own a pair of classic patent black pumps. Well, now I do! Not to mention I got them for 60% off at The Bay - The Bay always has great gems like these :)

Girl Time

I always cherish the moments I have with my girls, especially since the times I get to see them is a long and far between. I finally got to see them during Eva's birthday lunch at our favorite sushi spot Akasaka!! Among our adventurous sushi rolls we did the usual gab that I'm certain annoyed everyone around us - great movies, stupid boys, embarrassing moments, shopping and Ryan Gossling!!!! I can't wait to see them again soon :)

SPOTLIGHT: Size Five Please

My lovely friend Tara introduced me to this great gem of a site created by her co-worker April. Let me introduce you to "Size Five Please".

Size Five Please debuted this year and is an online consignment shopping site for designer clothing!! After perusing over all of the great goodies she has to offer I will definetly be swooning over them for days on end! (I NEED the Rag & Bone booties :) )

The shop carries designers such as Balenciaga, Twenty8Twelve, Chloe, Givency and even the latest Isabel Marant collection! April has created a rating system that you can find on her website which determines the condition that each peice is sold in ranging from "Mint Condition" (never worn) to "Vintage" (damaged beyond repair).

A few peices that I must have!

Are you as excited as I am?!?! Check out her site HERE!

STOP! Has your makeup expired??

Ever wonder if your makeup is still good? I know I do, especially when I open my masacar tube and the wand smells like funky metal *shutter*... I remember a few years ago I came across a post from the writers at Marie Claire Magazine that was very helpful! Heres a bit of education for yall!

Marie Claire explains: The expiration dates begin from the time you first open these products not from the time they are made.

Powders and shadows: 2 years
Cream shadows: 12 to 18 months
Foundation: 1 year
Lipstick & lipliner: 1 year
Mascara & eyeliners: 3 months

I recommend writing down the expiration date directly on the product so you'll never forget!

The first step to change

I'm typically the one in the group to be extremely organized, and when I say "extremely" I don't mean "very". I mean I take all extreme measures to organize my life!

I hit a slump for a few months where I would only place important info into my phone but then my shitty iPhone started to crash every now and then (thanks Apple for your defective chips). After a while I stopped making note of anything important - which was totally not me.

After having lunch with my friend Ovey, which was full of positive energy it pepped me into a mood where I wanted to change. I didn't know WHAT I wanted to change all I knew is it had to be done. I stopped at Chapters and knew the first thing I need to buy - a planner.

I purchased one of their new editions Moleskin planners in the large size and a few task titled sticky notes and I felt set.

Writing ideas and events down seems more productive than typing it into a phone, don't you agree? Now that I've taken the first step to "change", I'm still waiting on what my next step is.... I'll keep you posted.

1. Weekly Soft Cover Planner - 18 month Large - Black $25

Shared Links

Thanks to Tess and Brit at Belle Époque 21 I was happy to come across a link they shared on their facebook page which was a fabulous DIY for a chain link bracelet! I knew I had to try it immediately and jetted off to Michaels for all the materials I needed. I got 3 different chains and 2colors of suede cord. I can't wait to make bracelets all weekend for myself and friends!!

new pieces

*Sigh*... I am so thrilled every time I pick up a new piece of jewelery to add to the collection. Not because my collection is the first sparkly thing I see when I wake up but because it means NEW OUTFITS! I truly believe that any piece of accessory will transform an outfit in many different ways. Whether or not I'm bored of my silk button up blouse and denim shorts I can add many different necklaces to create a completely different look, ergo... new outfit!

Here are some of my latest jewelery pieces :)

"If I can't have the Chanel, I'll take the Zara"

Monday marked the day that I finally got to experience my birthday present from Lyndsey (yes my birthday was in May...)!!! She took me to the Fairmont Hotel for an extra girly day at the spa for a relaxing massage and soothing dip in the hot tub. To finish it off we had a great wine lunch on the Joeys patio and then SHOPPING!!!! I landed this amazing tweed jacket from Zara and am so excited for all of the possible outfits :).

On another note, I tried on the new Chanel multicolor sequin jacket seen HERE. The minute I put it on, it was over... let the savings begin! Also, the photo does not do justice to how pretty it really is. I recommend that all of you head over to your nearest Chanel store and try it on..and fall in love.

Vintage Elle Magazines

Although I recycled all of my Elle Magazines I still hang on to my vintage ones. I have the #7 issue from 1940 and the #455 from 1954. It's amazing to see the evolution that the covers have gone through throughout the years. I am still searching for the first 10 issues but its a tricky search. I still have not mastered eBay.

The #7 issue is only the cover, the #455 issue is a full issue. I will take photos one day to show you the inside of it. Its truly amazing, most of the pages are in black and white and there is an editorial spread on either Christian Dior, Oscar or Valentino (I can't remember which one) all in pastel colors. in 1954 the cost of Elle Magazine was only $0.50.

This is a photo of my bathtub AFTER Eric spray tanned my legs. I took it to show the things we go through to look good!! I thought spray tanning was a long process but the clean-up is far worse. On another note, how happy am I that I have a boyfriend that airbrushes ;)
