Snipits of my life: Part 1 - Skin Care
I like to consider myself a pretty open person with certain parts of my life. I normally never reveal too much but there are the guilty times where my mouth can be the latest edition of the Times. I've been feeling a tad bit stuck lately with regards to the makeup I use, my toiletries, the accessories I collect and the clothing I wear, etc. So I've decided to make a few changes, and document them.
MY FACE | For the longest time I kept purchasing my face washes and lotions during my grocery shopping because it was the most convenient time for me. Because of this I would always go straight for Clean and Clear or Nivea. Why? I have no idea...it could be because I know the brand? It's easy? WRONG! I'm LAZY. After a long trip to Sephora and consultation from their in store skin specialist I've found my new love. Ole Henriksen provides me with the best results for my combination skin - I've been using samples for the past week and have noticed results after the first 2 days, my skin is smooth and toned with minimal pores and blemishes.
Step 1: Wash face with the "on the go cleanser" $21
Step 2: Tone face with "pick me up tonic" $21
Step 3: Moisterize skin with "truth revelead super creme with SPF 15" $46
MY EYES| I work 40 hours a week, don't sleep nearly as much as I should and find it a chore to drink water (I'm working on it!!! 8 glasses) so with more sleep and more water and less stress I've introduced myself to Mary Kay Timewise Reviatalizing Eye Serum $35. So far I have not noticed a difference and it's been 2 weeks of usage...I'll come back to this one.
MY BODY | I find that my skin can get quite dry from time to time so it's best to keep it constantly moisterized. I've been rubbing Johnson and Johnson's Baby Oil all over my skin immediately after showers and using Vaseline lotion with coco butter before bed.
Shower time is relaxation time and its also time to scrub down! I've been introduced to Consonant Body's Organic Soap with goats milk and hemp $12. My skin feel instantly reguvinated and I dont feel like I've just packed on the chemicals.
To add a smell-good to my body after the scrub down I use Olay Body scrub with ribbons and Fruits and Passion Body wash with Vanilla and Pineapple.
MY FEET | Working 9 hour days 5 days IN HEELS can really take it's toll on ones feet. I'm using Fruits and Passion Exfoliating Paste $15 and Deoderizing Mist $15. The exfoliating paste is basically a spa treatment on your feet and believe me they'll be happy. It feels like a million mini stones acting together to clean your feet and remove away dead skin. The mist is perfect for keeping your feet hydrated and odor free.

48 days.
48 days left until I'm basking in the desert sun sippin on vodka strawberry lemonade slushies and getting ready to party it up VIP style! In another mad dash to H&M before work yesterday I landed 2 more dresses and a monokini! I must say I'm very proud of my monokini purchase considering I have cuts and bruises all over me from trying on a size too small the other day and now landing my size, LAST ONE, hiddin in a pile of nothings in the fitting room area.
But I digres... my updated checklist.

Ladies and gentlemen...VEGAS IS BOOKED!!! Am I excited? Uhmmm...yes you could definetly say that. In a mad dash today me and Lyndsey scurried off to the nearest H&M to find some great outfits, and success! We both walked away with some great items. Happy Birthday
Today is my birthday. It's also day 2 of daily horoscope checks and this is what we got.
"If a few unpleasant developments end up rocking the boat today, don't worry. You ought to be able to get things back on track before long. If you're just willing to lend a helping hand to other people today, then others ought to be more than willing to return the favor and help you out when you need it.
Try to take care of whatever work or other responsibilities seem to be coming your way today. You should also try to clear up any personal issues that have been bothering you lately. And it ought to be a great time to get to work on any sort of creative or artistic projects. Mantra: Sensitivity"
I must say, I'm not too pleased with my horoscope with it's tone of overloading responsibilities. However, Im going to pay attention to the creativity aspect of it, before reading it I woke up and took down all the paintings in our apartment. Time to start a new.

Mantra: Sensitivity
As many know, I am not a religious individual...However, I am extremely spiritual and believe that what I put out into this world - I will receive in return. For many years I've followed my horoscopes daily and lived my life according to, I know...crazy right? After being super busy at work I fell short on my daily check-ups. Well..I'm back to checking them! Here is todays:
"There should be plenty for you to have to take care of on the home front today. And if you're not all that eager to do your part, then a few conflicts are bound to be popping up at some point. No matter how much you'll have to deal with, you just better be prepared to handle all the duties and obligations that are coming your way right now.
Just realize that taking care of all your responsibilities could lead to greater rewards for you later on down the line. Things really ought to start looking up for you on the romantic front tonight, so don't be afraid to let a loved one know how you really feel. Mantra: Sensitivity."
After doing a bit of clean-up around the house - while being attatcked with a minor flu AND thinking about a few conflicts at work I stopped to read my horoscope and wouldnt ya know it! On the mark again! I cant wait for tomorrows...

Obakki Fall 2011
Kristen and I attended the Obakki Fall 2011 fashion show last Thursday that was hosted at Saint Andrews Church, and we both probably walked home with a tons of bruises from pinching and poking eachother everytime we saw something we liked. The shillouettes were extremely feminen, sexy and flattering without being body concious. The designers played tribute to many different shilouettes with cozy oversized coats and sweaters, slinky and flowly coctail dresses and seperates that would inspire you a whole list of endless outfits.

Here a few of my favorite side poking looks, enjoy!
