Shopping Finds - Home Decor & A New Basic

In early April I purchased a liquor tray from Lofty Living in New Westminster - it was posted in the Shopping Finds post at the time. I've decided to not display liquor bottles on it but leave it with crystals and drink accessories! The paper straws are from Etsy and all of the crystal is from my parents old collection.

As seen in yesterday's post, Eric and I hit up a few garage sales over the weekend and I got some great items! Click HERE to see the furniture and lamps I got for only $15! Eric managed to get a 1960s piece of furniture himself for only $10!

Lately I've been collecting small glass tea light holders. They're so beautiful and detailed and add a special touch to my place. They can also be used for many others things such as jewelry pots, and holders for office supplies. At the same garage sale I nabbed this one for only $0.80!

The first garage sale we got to had half a garage full of candles from the Woodward's department store and apparently when we got there at 11am more than half of them were already sold! I got 2 sets of 6 white candle sticks for $0.10 each - a deal unheard of these days.

Crossing off an item on my 5 Items post I got a pair of skinny white trousers from Zara. They hit right below the ankle bone to not allow too much bunching at the bottom. They create a longer leg and will be perfect for this season. I just have to be careful, I'm notorious for ruining white items before I head out the door!

Shopping Finds - Lil' Bit Of Each

Oh Hello!

Shopping Finds today has something from all 4 of my favorites: Fashion, Beauty, Art and Home Decor. I've been trying to tone down my shopping and spending lately because I want to be able to shop while I'm in Vegas this May (23 days, OMG!) and hit up some of my favorite stores. So, instead of purchasing the larger items or a lot of items of lesser quality I've just been purchasing the smaller items that make a big difference!

Let's shop!

You all know my love for Social Experiment rings - I just can't get enough of them! This is my second ring from the design genius Georgia Heraty. She set up shop (literally) at Muse Social Fashion House last week and made her gorgeous rings on the spot! All you had to do was pick your stone and pick your color for the band - I've had my hopes for a black stone for a while now.

I'm such a big fan of DeLysh Design - you've seen Elyshia Samy's bracelets and monogrammed vase on the blog before. She recently just added these amazing woven Glam bracelets and is currently taking pre orders to be shipped tomorrow! I'm always wearing my black and gold one, c/o of Elyshia!

Another fabulous purchase from Muse Social Fashion House! This pastel and nude top is definitely going to be my staple for this Spring (unfortunately I've already pulled the thread...ahhh!!). It has great detailed down the front panel, grey shoulders and the ivory sleeve cuff is lovely!

One of my favorite stationary shops is Paper Poet in downtown New Westminster - there is definitely a soft spot for this shop because Eric and I discovered it while living in the area! They have all colors of the rainbow so I couldn't help but grab the metallic mint - one of my favorite colors this Spring!

I've been trying to branch out with my lipsticks lately after seeing Lauren Wickman of L.A. In The Bay - she always rocks a colored lip and it's very inspiring! Believe it or not, I only started wearing lipstick last year...Lyndsey literally dragged me to M.A.C and made me purchase 2 colors I would never normally choose - 1 year later and I'm hooked! I grab this tangerine shade called "Siren" by Revlon and am OOOOOBBSSSEEESSSSED!
Lofty Living is a store I just can't get enough of - another store in downtown New Westminster that Eric and I discovered while living there. It has everything I could want in my place. If you like a store like The Cross Decor & Design you would L.O.V.E this gem! I scored this beautiful vintage looking liquor tray and can't wait to fill it up with a ton of items! Check back on my Instagram to see photos of it being updated.

Shopping Finds - the home, the gems, the wrists

I have to admit I'm quite proud of myself. I haven't purchased any clothing since my last shopping finds post! So what...like a week and a half, maybe longer? Okay, that's not something to be proud of. Especially when instead of clothing it's gone to home decor and odds and ends!In the last 4 days I've spent two of them at The Cross Decor & Design but that's what I get for spending my time downtown with a gift card.

So what do we got here?? Let's sum it up!

I absolutely adore the two teal tea light holders, they were perfect for the office shelf along with the white wicker lantern. My office was beginning to look a bit stuffy and typical office-like and this allows it to be more playful. All 3 are from The Cross Decor & Design!

C/O of The Cross Decor & Design this gorg crystal diamond shaped tea light holder. It brings in the shine where necessary!

C/O of The Cross Decor & Design, Voluspa Mokara - THE BEST SMELLING CANDLE IN THE WORLD! Seriously, you know how much I love candles, right? They're in almost every "Shopping Finds" post but I might have to shove them all to the side and opt for this one over and over again.

C/O of The Cross Decor & Design the cutest butter dish in the world. I'm currently using it in my bathroom to place my earrings/rings when I wash my face/hands.

It really feels like Spring time with the trees blooming and these beauties on my lobes! They're feminine and simply lovely in all ways. I got these at Front & Co. - they also came in mint!

During a conversation with Jen from Prairie Girl In The City, I was completely inspired to create lovely little cards and stationary for my loved ones. Although I appreciate the small things and homemade gems I never thought to create them myself - thanks to her I will be now! I can't wait to use this Paris themed stamp kit to create! Also from The Cross Decor & Design.

C/O LinzGutz who you might recognize from the GIVEAWAY I'm having HERE - I've been sporting this heart shaped bracelet with most outfits. What's so great about it is that I don't have to tailor it to fit my tiny wrists - it just does!

C/O Elyshia from DeLysh Designs - these incredibly cute and easy to wear bracelets! I've wanting a design like this for a while but couldn't find it anywhere. She will be adding them to her Etsy shop so stop by and have a look! By the way...did you know she bakes cupcakes? I KNOW! I just ordered a dozen for me and my girls during the Housewives Of Vancouver premier tomorrow!

Well, that's it!...for now...

P.S. Besides the great giveaway I'm having HERE - Devon Rachel is holding her own for the 24K Gold Chanel No. 5 Perfume Bottle I See Noise Print!! It's your second chance to win!

Shopping Finds - a few weeks in one

Gah! I've been so busy with my I See Noise prints that I haven't found the time to sit down and do this shopping post! I've been wanting to do one since I had my surgery 4 weeks ago when I stumbled over to H&M on double T3s and did some shopping (PS. Not a good idea).

I've been obsessing over my latest items and can't wait to share them with you guys! I'm sure there a few items that you'll go grab yourselves.

The infamous floral cropped pants from H&M for only $14.95! I can't wait to wear them more often, and the H&M Blazer for only $39.50 is probably the most perfect blazer I've owned. It cinches at the waist, is the perfect length in the arms and fits the shoulders. Overall - a great purchase. You may recognize the fuchsia Blair Ritchey clutch as well!

I finally used my Zara gift card that Eric had gotten me for Christmas - it took me forever! This top is super cute on, fitted yet billowy and easy to wear. It has great texture and a lot of fun to style!

I went into Club Monaco to pick up some new denim and left with an entire outfit! This silk motorcycle jacket is hard to NOT wear. I've wearing it for days and it goes with many outfits - it's lightweight for easy wear and perfect for a warmer day. The white Club Monaco tee is a staple. You can get a white tee anywhere but I prefer the texture of this one - it's a bit thicker and has a few design elements that steer it away from a basic tee.

I nabbed this gem of a necklace at Violet Hill Boutique in Richmond. I was drawn to it immediately and had to have it! It's so simple to wear but has that wow factor with the outfit. Designed by Belle Noel in collaboration with Kim Kardashian.

This astrology sign bracelet is also from Violet Hill Boutique. It works perfectly with cute arm parties or just on its own.

Elysia Samy from  DeLysh Design makes great monogram vases and it was the perfect addition to my coffee table. She's made some super cute bunny vases for Easter!

C/O of Social Experiment this super pretty and simple chain bracelet. It's the best when I want to wear something on my wrists but don't want to pile on the arm parties. You can see more from Social Experiment by clicking on the advertisement to the right side bar.

I bought this necklace from The Doctor's Closet during our Vancouver Blogger Clothing Sale for only $5! I've been able to wear it as a necklace and a bracelet and am trying to find a way to wear it in my hair for a pretty boho look.

Lilac nails are in! They really had a pop of color to my outfits (as seen in the photo below) and throw in a touch of Spring time to cheer me up from this drab Vancouver weather we've been having!...it SNOWED the other day...IT'S MID MARCH! Sally Hansen - Lacey Lilac

You may have seen this amazing to do list by Life's A Journal on Aliciafashionista - she includes E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G that you need for your day from Tasks, Cleaning & Purchases to Goals, Events, how much water you should drink and what you're eating from Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Ever tell yourself you're not going to shop, and yet, without fail you purchase more than you intended? How about when you tell yourself you're not gonna shop - and you don't! But then a week goes by and you say "I've been good" so you purchase something, and yet, without fail you end up in a downward spiral of shopping!

So ya, that sums up my past few weeks! However, since last Wednesday I've had some great days for finding great items that were extremely inexpensive that I've never had in my wardrobe.

Shopping Finds - Home, Beauty and Clothing

Today's Shopping Finds post is JAM PACKED!! YEEUPP!! You know what that means right?... I'm broke! Not really.

Today is probably one of my favorites because it adds in a little bit of everything. I've got home decor, beauty, clothing and accessories to show you.

So, get out your charge cards, take one more look at your bank statements, clear your calendars, grab your keys and head on out the door! (But wait till you finish reading this post ;) ) I've also got a fun announcement at the end!

A great pop of color with some animal print! Orange silk tee from Winners $39.99 / Michael Kors belt $17.99

Leopard oversized duffle, perfect for a carry on or a long day out of the house! I've had my eye on this bag for a few months at Winners and nabbed it for only $20.

A gorgeous 24k Gold Dipped Quartz pendant Necklace gifted from Simona Van Villet of Magic Loot Designs - you may remember her from her great giveaway of the geode necklace. To purchase this necklace for yourself click HERE.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect self-sharpening eyeliner pen - this one is great! Avon Glimmersticks $2.99 each (on sale).

I'm sure you all know my love for Voluspa candles by now. They retail between $20-$40 and I grabbed these ones from Chapters for only $5.75 each!! They were on sale for 75% off.

During my trip to Lynn Steven in Gastown I fell in love with these Patch NYC candles! They're 100% soy and have a 20 hour burning time - perfect! 2 sizes available, this is the smaller one for $17.

I've been looking for a mirrored tray to fit all my perfumes (and room for more) but it's been a bit of a struggle. I purchased one from The Cross Decor and Design and loved it but unfortunately it wouldn't hold all of the bottles. This one works perfectly! Winners $16.99.

It's always nice to get organized for the day with pretty items - this to do list keeps me on track on for only $7.99 from Chapters.

During a speedy trip to Ikea with my mom last week I made sure to hit up the "as is" section to see if there were any steals of a deal. There was! This large white coffee table (although basic, still functional) was only $30 because of some small scratch you can't even see. It works perfectly as a book shelf since I've moved my shelf into the office and have it packed with my supplies! To the women we had to fight off for this table - ya snooze ya loose!

Have you found any great deals lately? Do tell!

So, now for the exciting news. Lynn Steven in Gastown will be the first Vancouver retailer to carry original I See Noise prints! They will be available on Friday February 10th so make sure you pop by and grab a few!

Office Essentials

As I've mentioned before, I am renovating my home office! Just the other day, out of the blue I decided to paint it and give all the existing furniture a new look. You can see the paint color of the walls in the post below. I spent my day yesterday spray painting my workshop table and floating shelves white with a lacquer finish - I love them!

It's important for me to have a great space to work in considering when I'm home I spend the largest portion of my day in my office! It's comforting to be surrounded by beautiful and fun pieces and not the typical stuffy office feel.

It's a definite work in progress and I'm doing a little each day, below are a few items that I'll be adding to my office to make it feel a bit more special!

Small Storage Boxes w/ Label Window - Ikea 2/$6.99
Opal Glass Mini Lamp - Chapters $60
File Holders - Ikea 2/$7.99
Hand Cast Triangluar Sculptured Bookend - Chapters $25 ON SALE $10
Large Storage Boxes w/ Label Window - Ikea 2/$14.99
Voluspa Laguna Candle - The Cross Decor & Design $39.95
I See Noise Chanel No. 5 Print 24K Gold Glossy - $20
Pull Out Storage Units - Ikea 2/$6
Burnt Toast 7 Day To Do List - Chapters $7.99

Shopping Finds - and a quick office change!

IT'S FRIDAY!! I hope everyone is doing something fabulous this weekend! Today is another edition of "Shopping Finds & Favorites", one of my favorite posts to do every week!!

If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram then you would know that I'm currently re-doing my office. I've taken the plunge on a whim and painted my office "Echo Lake" blue - a bit of a bluey-green. I first saw it as the logo color for The Glitter Guide and it always made me feel inspired. So...I painted it...I hated it (it was so obnoxious in this big space)..and now I love it! I'll be adding accents of white furniture with silver and gold accessories. Exciting!

During a stroll through Winners the other day I came across this beautiful photo frame in 3 different textures for only $7.99 and had to have one of them. It adds a bit of shine and sparkle when the light hits it and goes perfectly against the new wall color.

I also spotted a large gorgeous white porcelain vase - perfect to hold pink peonies flowers. It gives some life to the office and adds that touch of pretty. It was only $12.99!!

A favorite of mine for some time now has been re-designing my old furniture and accessories with a simple solution - spray paint. If you haven't tried it I highly recommend it. Spray paint comes in a huge array of colors / shades and also different textures / shines. I recently took an old white lamp and painted it gold (will show you soon), remade old photo frames into lovely gold fixtures and now will be turning my dingy work station table in a fab white lacquered table as well as my floating shelves!

It's cheap, simple and makes for the perfect quick fix! Have you spray -painted anything to make it new?

xoxo

mid week shopping favorites

It's that time of the week again! My new shopping finds and favorite items! I wonder if I took this idea from Oprah's favorite things? It was so disappointing when she discontinued that segment. I will admit that I was too "sick" or "busy" to do anything because all I wanted to do was catch that episode!

Anyways, onwards and upwards! On Monday during my lunch date with the girls we stopped by F As In Frank on Main Street. It was my first time in this vintage shop and they have some great items! I set my eyes on this great ivory and gold geometric ring and lucky me it was 25% off! It'll be great to wear with basic outfits that need that special touch.

I've also finally got my hands on my own set of LOVE+MARKED cards by Olivia Lovenmark of Style Struck. They're the perfect cards for me to send out to my girlfriends for any special time of the year. Click HERE to see her Etsy shop.

If you don't own any Voluspa Candles, I really think it's time that you did! The scents are unlike any I've ever smelled - they are hand poured, and made from coconut wax allowing it to burn ultra clean. The Laguna candle is made from apricot and coconut wax.

Have you seen or heard about I See Noise?! I'm stunned at the following that has been created so far and the demand for my prints will keep me quite busy once I'm restocked in the first week of February. Keep checking back at my Etsy shop for the new round of prints in gold and silver. Click HERE to go to my Etsy shop.

I came across Rachel Shortt's web page about a week ago and was impressed with her selection of edgy yet romantic hats that she designs herself. They are a must have for the burlesque insprired girl! To visit her Etsy page click HERE.
